Call for participants
The 11th Summer School on 'Scientific Writing, Reviewing, and Publishing: Measures to protect and monitor forest genetic diversity' will train students, early career scientists, and senior researchers in writing, submitting, and reviewing scientific publications. The focus is on scientific writing and publishing in the exact sciences and especially in (applied) biology and forestry.
The training consists of lectures and practical training with many examples, tips and tricks. Participants will receive some practical homework and will be asked for input during the lectures and training. You are invited to bring an example publication (of yourself or another researcher) to the summer school.
The school is co-organized by the LIFE project LIFE SySTEMiC and the EVOLTREE network in collaboration with the Slovenian Forestry Institute.
Accommodation (full board 70 euros per person per day) will be pre-booked in the Hotel NC Planica, where the school will take place. Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs at Hotel NC Planica and are responsible for cancellation of accommodation. Grants are available from COST Actions and the EVOLTREE network (one per partner institution).

Reinhart Ceulemans is Professor Emeritus of Ecology at the Department of Biology, University of Antwerp and an expert scientist at the CzechGlobe Institute in Brno, Czech Republic. He is a corresponding member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. A passionate teacher and (co-)author of over 350 publications and editor of several scientific books, he also has rich experience in teaching scientific writing, reviewing and publishing.
